WASHINGTON – The Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) will be hosting a virtual hiring event Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

Registration is available from now until the day of the event.

We strongly encourage job seekers to register and submit resumes before the day of the event.

Like other regions of Texas, the Amarillo area and Pantex Plant endured unprecedented winter weather Feb. 13-18, with record low temperatures impacting the site. Pantex responded quickly to the dangerous conditions by cancelling work shifts, reducing energy consumption, and evaluating freezing temperature-related damage to facilities.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) will host a virtual job fair for the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) Wednesday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (EDT). The NSE will hire over 3,000 new employees to join its robust and diverse workforce in 2021 to continue building the next generation of nuclear security professionals.

Takeira “TK” Benoit, spent her childhood in Baton Rouge, Louisiana finding out how things worked by her father’s side. For as long as she can remember, she loved math, science, and trying to understand the world around her. Now, she is a nuclear safety engineer with NNSA who helps to ensure the safe design, construction, and operation of both nuclear and non-nuclear facilities. This week she is speaking at the Black History Month celebration at West Texas A&M.

Last October, Gabriel “Gabe” Pugh joined the NNSA Production Office (NPO) as the Deputy Manager at the Pantex Plant in Texas. With almost 30 years of experience with the Department of Energy (DOE) in the areas of Nuclear Facility Safety, Nuclear Explosive Operations Safety, and Nuclear Weapon Program Management, Pugh recently served as the Deputy Manager of Business, Security, and Missions for the NNSA’s Los Alamos Field Office in New Mexico.

NNSA Release: NNSA to extend public scoping period of the Environmental Impact Statement for the Surplus Plutonium Disposition Program to Feb. 18

The Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration is announcing today that it is extending the comment period for public scoping of the Environmental Impact Statement for the Surplus Plutonium Disposition Program, which proposes to dilute and dispose of 34 metric tons of surplus plutonium using capabilities at multiple sites across the Nation.
